Building My Foundation In Digital Marketing

Every brand, whether it be a grand corporation or a small startup, aspires to connect with its audience online. For me, beginning my journey in this realm is not just about learning techniques to perform new skills, but also providing me with strong shoulders to stand on while I grow my career long-term.

When I first heard about Digital Marketing, I thought it was simply creating a social media post or running an advertisement. However, the more I dived into it, the more I learned that it was so much more expansive than that. Digital Marketing encompasses such practices as creating high-quality and engaging content, optimizing websites for search engines, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics, and building strong relationships with consumers. All successful marketers will tell you the reason they are successful is because they have been conducting these activities for a long time, and are continually practicing and learning.

Once I knew what to work on, the first part of building my strongest foundation was learning the basics. I began studying the following core ideas:

Content Marketing – I explored how great words, blogs and videos can attract the right audience who are looking for my content.

Social Media Marketing – I wanted to know how Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn allowed businesses to build brand identity and credibility.
